It's part two my amigos of...GLEN'S FANFIC.
I ripped off my tie and threw it on my bedroom floor. I heard my new step-aunt chuckling downstairs with her husband, sadly they were looking after me while my parents went for their honeymoon. Yes, honeymoon. Samuel and my mum had gotton married. She was no longer 'Mandy Adams' but 'Mandy Grant'. I threw my 'welcome to the Grant family' mug at the wall and watched it smash. What messed up family designs these mugs? I groaned as I fell back on my bed, not bothering to take off my suit.
That's when I felt something underneath me. I arched my back and reached for the envelope, it had my name on it in fancy writing. I ripped it open and pulled out the letter. It read:
I understand that this must be a stressful time for you, what with your mother marrying your step-father whom you depise. Oh yes, I know all about that my boy. There's something you must know, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry for not being there and I'm sorry for what's going to happen to you in the future. If I could stop it, you don't know how much I would. But I can't intefere with these matters thanks to a man whom I will never forgive for this. Promise me this my son, stay strong. No matter how many times he tries to crush your spirit, stay strong for me. I know you can do this.
I'll always be proud of you Glen
I felt my mouth go dry as I read it. Tears filled up my eyes, I couldn't cry though. I'd been crying so much recently that tears couldn't fall anymore. I looked out the window and watched the remaining guests leave, one of them had to be my father...right? That's when I noticed a man with dark black hair standing by our small tree. He wore a grey suit and had dark black eyes...he was also staring straight at me. He gave me a small smile and saluted at me. I saluted back with a shakey hand. I mouthed "I love you" and just before he disappeared behind a mob of guests, I was sure I saw him mouth it back.
A week later...
I watched from the top of the stairs as my mum and new step-dad walked through the door, laughing and kissing each other. I swallowed the urge to throw up all over Samuel and ruin his new shirt. My step-aunt and uncle greeted them with hugs and blabbed on about how the honeymoon was. I was just about to turn around and go back into my room when I heard my mum call my name.
"Don't I get a hug sweetie?" She dropped her suitcases and opened her arms. For once though, I didn't run into her arms. Instead I turned away from her and continued walking to my room. I heard my step-aunt tut loudly and I felt Samuel's glare behind me, but I didn't care. They weren't my family and I wasn't going to accept them as family, ever.
I shut my room door and fell on my bed, sobbing. I hugged my favourite teddy, my mum won it for me at one of those arcade places. It was just a simple dog plushie, but I loved it so much. I turned on my side, facing the door and my bedside table. I looked at the picture of me and my mum, I was smiling. I hadn't smiled in such a long time, were 7 year olds supposed to be like this?
I searched under my pillow, looking for my father's letter. Once I found it, I hugged it to my chest along with my plushie. Life was a like a blank canvas right now except I couldn't paint on it. I stared at the dark blue wall for what seemed like hours before I heard a light tapping on the door.
I rubbed my eyes and wiped the tears with my plushie before hiding the letter back under my pillow. Nobody could know about that. "C-Come in..." Freddos...my voice still sounded awful. The door opened and my mum walked in, her blue eyes were tinted with red and her cheeks were tearstained. She was holding a plate in her right hand and a glass of orange juice in her left. I could smell the delicious smell of melted cheese and I knew what my mum had brought...Tacos.
My stomach rumbled loudly as my mum sat on the end of the bed. I sat up and she placed the plate on my lap and the glass on my bedside cabinet. I grabbed my knife and fork, attacking the Tacos. My mum smiled a bit and stroked my cheek. "What's this I've been hearing about you not...talking to Tracy and Nathan?" "Mum, please understand, I don't like them. At all. They're not my family, you are." Then something happened which I'd never expected to happen, my mum got angry at me.
"Glen James Adams, you listen to me. I've given you everything you've ever wanted and this is how you repay me? By acting like a spoilt brat? Whether you like it or not, these people are your family and you will accept them no matter how long it takes." She stood up and walked out of the room, slamming the door behind her. My lower lip shook and I put the plate on the floor. Samuel ruined my life.
